WELCOME

Hello readers and writers

Are you hungry for an alternate telling of Texas history? One that is not told by the white patriarchs we've already heard so much from? One that includes all the people who were here when the settlers arrived; the Mexicans, the Spaniards (this was Mexico, after all), and the native peoples? One told by a woman, surrounded by strong and capable women?

If you said YES, then I've got you covered.

I'm querying my feminist historical fiction with romance, featuring the Lipan Apache people, and based in the Republic of Texas in 1839. Think VAMPIRES OF EL NORTE, add Apache, subtract Vampires, move the setting to Central Texas and sprinkle in the women of GODLESS. Or think all the vibes of Lonesome Dove, but told by a woman entwined with the Lipan Apache.

The picture to the right is where my novel begins and ends. It's one of the many places in the beautiful Texas hill country we travel to.

Please reach out if you want to know more or chat. More "about me" here. Additionally, I've compiled a list of resources for writers. Let me know if you've got anything I should add to this list.

Honing the Craft

Writing to be published is a grueling journey. This is what I know:

 1. The process of becoming a published author is a marathon, not a race. I don't know why I"m using a running metaphor, since I absolutely hate running, but I'm in it to win it! I started studying the craft in 2020, and have written two and a half novels,. I learn more every day through my own writing, editing my CP's work, reading my writing group's pages, webinars and books. This brings me to #2.

2. I have A LOT more to learn! And the more I learn, the more I know I don't know. So, I've created a page of resources for beginners who are just starting their writing journey. It includes podcasts, newsletters, contests, twitter handles, YouTube pages (and more), all of which have helped me hone this craft over the years.

I hope it helps you as well, and good luck on your journey to 10,000 hours!

If you want the truth, read fiction."
